It can be so frustrating to work hard, only to be held back by English proficiency tests. SVIEP has the answer. Imagine gaining access to a year-round, fast-paced program is designed to help you quickly improve your grammar, reading, speaking, listening and writing skills. Program graduates will gain the confidence and credentials they need to pursue education in the US. SVIEP works with students at all levels of English proficiency. You begin the program at the level that makes sense for your needs.

  • Level 1: Introductory

  • Level 2: Beginning

  • Level 3: Intermediate

  • Level 4: Advanced

Certificates are awarded to participants achieving Level 4 proficiency.

Stop wasting your precious time studying for standardized tests such as TOEFL and the SAT. If English is not your native language, or taking tests in English has been a challenge for you, an intensive English program may be your best option. But all ESL schools are not the same!

SVIEP’s program gives students time to get culturally and academically acclimated. Class sizes are small which allows for more individual attention as well as extra academic guidance. Support services such as the Learning Center and ESL conversational class allow our students to quickly progress through the program with positive outcomes.

Students who successfully complete Silicon Valley Intensive English Program, and general education at one of the San Mateo Colleges, are then prepared to transfer to competitive 4-year colleges and universities.
